Paradise Island

Paradise Island

A Poem by Chihiro Isabelle
"

Among the fish and treetops and sand, the ocean surrounds the place that you stand.

"

Soft warm sand squishes under my bare feet

Waves crashing in time with my slow heartbeat

Green trees stand twisted and wizened with age

Plants cover the soft earth; berries and sage

Water splash onto the cliffs and the trees

Salty spray splashes me with it’s warm freeze

All the trees grow to be laden with fruit

Delicious spreads from their leaves to their root

The wide blue ocean grows larger in size

The longer you stand under God’s great skies

But the limitless sea sickens your heart

For you and the land, it keeps you apart

It is with sadness and stupid dumb luck

On paradise island, you are now stuck
