Chapter 7: Cori

   Cori looked at Alistair, her heart raced and she filled with anger and sadness. Cori was about to speak until she heard her sister start weeping.

 I looked at my sister as she wept, her eyes filling with water. My fist balled up as I stood ready to scream. Sargent Orion Stood up and got in front of me, putting his firm hand on me his ice blue eyes peering down at me.

"Cori, how about we go upstairs and talk."

I nodded as he dragged me upstairs, my mother was consoling Claudia as she continued to ball.

We soon go into the room I shared with Claudia, I sat in my cot. Sargent Orion sat next to me.

"I know this, is a shock."

I starred him down.

"Did you know Orion?"

Orion, sighed brushing back his brown hair.

"I was ordered not to tell you."

I bit my lip and got up and started to change into my normal clothes.

"So, you did not even think hey maybe my girlfriend would like to know?"

Orion sighed and got up and held me as I put on my long-sleeve black t-shirt.

"It killed me not to tell you Cori."

I turned toward him putting on my pants and pushed him away.

"Oh, did it ! well you are not the one who has to go down stairs and console your family."

Orion walked toward me as I finished getting dressed.

"Cori, I will stay... I will just tell Wyatt it was to make sure you and your sister did not run."

I got angrier

"You still have not told him?"

Orion stood their.

"You know if I do, it will mean you might not get into the barracks."

I screamed, as I felt his hand come around my stomach.

"You know I love you, and I want you more than anything."

I felt him kiss my cheek and hold me close.

"I know, I am just so confused about everything."

Orion held me to his chest.

"I will tell Wyatt once you are done with boot camp."

I wiped my tears.

"What if he will not let me join to be Alistairs, apprentice."

Orion smiled 

"Then I will tell him tomorrow."

I laughed my throat throbbing, I stood there being held which was the only thing keeping me sane that night.
