Cut FootA Poem by KamalaPoem about the time I cut my foot when I was five or six years old
Running around the garden
Something sharp cuts my barefoot The red blood dripping to the ground I walk to where my sister can be found. "Susie, I cut my foot", I said. "Yeah right, It's just all in your head." Susie looks at my foot and sees A deep gash makes her fall to her knees. Susie runes to the house with me She sets me down and shouts for mom I walk towards the bathroom door The red blood dripping on the hardwood floor. The toilet flushes and mom comes out She looks at my foot as I cry She takes me to the kitchen sink She washes it out, my face pink They bandage it up, my pap there. His face full of love and care They drive me to the hospital To get my foot examined by doctors I couldn't walk on it for a week Had to go to school the next day I couldn't hop or skip or play All I could do was stand there Trying to look like I didn't' care © 2010 Kamala |
