Flames

Flames

A Poem by Kamala

Warmth spreads up my body
Lighting the darkness around me.
Sparks fly up into the eternal darkness of night.
Flashes of red orange and yellow light.
The flames dance before my very eyes, enchanting me.
Shadows dance across the dark grass
Fire eats away the darkness of the night
Leaving the light to guide the way
Crackling of wood
Smoke floating up to the heavens
The darkness is no more
Destruction of light and death
Warmth and the destruction of life itself
Flickering of shadows on the walls.
Dancing to the crackling of the flames.
Burning hot ash lying on the ground.
The darkness is destroyed with the eternal light from within.
