Shattered Soul

Shattered Soul

A Poem by Kamala

My soul is shattered
Ruptured into a million pieces
Like broken glass
Falling on a cold hardwood floor
Will someone help me pick up the pieces?
Slowly one by one
Maybe I'll be whole once again

The idea of the poem could have been further expanded but if ever you decide to do so, be careful not to exaggerate it. This poem was blunt and straightforward, modern. Aside from a minor fault, it was well-written and emotions flowed out unhindered. It expressed vulnerability without being too much, pain without the thought of dying, sadness without the thought of pure depression. It also held a note of hope, a hint of optimism. It held a chance for a better future, a determination to finally heal and move on.
