Life These Days...

One thing I've learned
throughout my life,
is that no matter what the pain,
no matter what the strife.

You try to be good
and trust others with sin.
But there are just some things,
you must keep deep within.

At first you may think,
to let close ones know all.
But sometimes too much,
can just make you fall.

You want to be honest,
you want to be keen.
But your secrets and realities
can't always be seen.

Even though inside
your heart may feel...
like telling the rest,
but it's not always real.

I've learned that some things,
are better kept untold.
To keep to yourself
for only you to hold.

Because later on,
you might have to regret
trying to be truthful
and having to fret.

What kind of world
are we living in?
Where even honesty and integrity
have to be kept deep within.
