Goal

Goal

A Poem by KamalTrivedi

So many stones,
not one step to waste.
Like an uneaten cake,
which you must first taste.

One chosen path,
you must follow with pride.
He who did not get there,
is he who cried.

Follow your passion,
follow your dream.
Walk with tied bricks,
don't float down a stream.

No one said it'd be easy,
for you did assume.
You're like a beautiful butterfly,
and a flower to bloom.

Spread your wings,
and soar so high.
Once you get there,
you can rest in the sky.

Achieving your goal
above all the rest,
high on a mountain,
the best of the best.

Life is too short
to just sit and wait.
It won't come to you
it's something you must create.

Your goal is waiting
for you to arrive.
Get rid of leisure,
and begin to strive.

Not only do you desire,
but your goal hungers you.
Saying that much is not enough,
there are many things you must do.

Climb each stone
like a ladder of grace.
Slowly stepping up,
and claiming your place.

Your goal is your friend.
Don't think as your foe.
Sitting won't help...
so get up and go!
