Sad Love

Sad Love

A Poem by KamalTrivedi

For the longest time in my heart,
I thought you were the one.
But to you, the answer to everything,
is seeming to be "run".

Never have I thought of love
as weak and hurt and pain.
And now when I describe our love,
It's sad and full of disdain.

Every time I hold it out
no one takes my hand.
No one makes me smile each day.
No one tries to understand.

My best friend and soul mate,
my life and my heart,
have seemed to push me further back
than where I was in the start.

If every hour wasn't so long,
and every minute not so hard,
maybe I would be a little okay,
but there's no way I could make it far.

I'm sad and I'm lonely
and I've lost what I knew.
I've asked for you to be there,
but I've gained nothing new.

As I look back and see
the past that we made.
It was something extraordinary
as the sky being jade.

Now my faith is hurt by fire,
being burned down to the core.
Like a piece of paper
completely shred and torn.

That little burning flame of hope
that we'd be forever love,
has slowly flown away from me
and started its journey, empty of...

what it once had and prospered in,
that fairy-tale youthful glow.
Lost its first spring and summer and fall
and that first fresh winter snow.

The first waves that hit the stunning shore.
The lightening strike to ground.
Its lost the smell of first fallen rain
and the flower buds blooming all around.

Now as the dull grey skies are clouded overhead,
there is nothing around but fate.
To see whether another year will come,
or if the end will now await.
