FROG

FROG

A Poem by KamalTrivedi

There is a frog inside your throat.
Trust me...I hear it every night.
I'm not sure exactly what I should do.
Should I check with a flashlight?

I'm a little worried if I close my eyes,
that it will attack me in my sleep.
Maybe it would stop making all these sounds,
if I didn't make a peep.

I'm pretty sure that it's a frog
or maybe it's a toad.
Do you think it followed you home from work?
Or just appeared within your throat?

It's just that every time I'm sleeping,
I start to hear a croak.
I wake up and don't see anything
and I think that it's a joke.

You say your throat is itchy
and it feels like there's a clog.
I just don't know my handsome prince,
you may just be a frog!
