A piece of you

I keep a piece of you within me

through my peace and strife.

Deep within the interior of my soul

so I can take you with me, into the next life.

I have already received and given

enough love for this lifetime.

So now, I can only live the life

that the ordinary ones find.

For years, it will root

as I try to grow my tree.

I can count on my three fingers

who understands the inner me.

Impossibility to ever feel again.

Unattainable for my kind.

But I continue trying every day,

hoping that I will unwind.

Everyone assumes they know me

as I always speak my mind.

But the things that mean the most to me

I always tend to hide.
