Simplicity

I used to think life was complicated.
But it was just so simple back then.
I was happy, so I smiled.
I'm not sure where along the way, everything changed.
In the blink of an eye, it seems I ended up here. Now when I look back I can't even remember the way things were. How simplicity felt. How the air smelled. How true beauty looked.
Sometimes I try so hard to retrieve it...even if only for a moment I could feel it again. I close my eyes and lose myself... Just to breathe it again...to see it again...at only a glance...
Somewhere amongst it all, we lost our way. Now I'm not sure if I will ever find my way back there or if I'll stay swept amongst the wind forever... Like it was waiting to capture me all these years.
I didn't run fast enough. I didn't breathe quietly enough. And now I try to hide from it all.
Will you find me? Will you find me? Will you ever find me again?
