A Beautiful Catastrophe

A Beautiful Catastrophe

A Poem by Angela Devlin

A beautiful catastrophe
Has happened...
I cannot understand,
Yet Someone must.

Some unusual mixup.
With my soul.
Or -
this soul
that resides within me.

Or perhaps -
Part of a plan,
And with it
Every detail, every moment,
Carefully considered
by a transcending love.
Known for an eternity -
Except by me.

Would I worry then?
If my soul was placed here,
So far away
From the love I know.
A love not found here,
In any of these places.
The purest love
I still feel -
But source I cannot see.

For those memories
Were not created
Within the shallowness
Of mind -
But within the soul
And It's a voltage now!
That reminds me
Where to fix my eyes.
It reminds me
Of the short time
Until suffering will end.

I miss this place I know.

I seem surrounded by mismatched souls.
