Me & My Shadow

Me & My Shadow

A Poem by Ariel B.

Dusk, twilight;

evening starlight;

end of day:

stray cats,

swooping bats

hunting prey.

Here I sit and here I stay -

the steps are hard, the buildings grey,

the hour late -

but still I’ll wait

for you.

Lamplight, flashlight,

little silver flask light,

all alone and feeling blue.

Wish I may, wish I might

have the wish I wished tonight

for you…

I've just swum in sea of lyrical imagery... I've never used the word Magnificent, but my senses tells me it most certainly applies here.

I like this one. the flow feels so natural, and the sentiment sings through the words. cheers!
