Opium

Opium

A Poem by Ariel B.

She takes off her dress,

satin straps slipping slow

over smooth shoulders painted

with lipstick like burns:

cigarette kiss

glowing darkly narcotic -

red satin slips dizzily -

field of red poppies

bloom petal caresses

on skin like white silk.

I'm a little confused. Is this about a sexy girl, or a powerful drug addiction?

dark and smokey , the red a sharp contrast that quickens the heartbeat and widens the pupils , easing into the gentleness of white silk
