All the letters sent home

All the letters sent home

A Poem by KalebX_

Hand written letters sent home
With truths that I could never say to your face
All the things I wish I was strong enough to say
Hidden under coffee stains as I avoid sleep

Sullen eyes, blood stained teeth
I can’t keep biting my tongue
These words are getting to me
Yet I’m still not sorry
Please don’t let me sleep

Months go by, the years increase
But I still can’t find my peace in all of this
We made this bed but neither of us got the sheets
No comfortable in this place and a constant headache

The sound of my breathing shakes these walls
And it’s getting harder to ignore the complaints
When you break ever promise that you make
To not hold any of these grievances against me

Another sleepless nights got me thinking
Sullen eyes, blood stained teeth
I can’t keep biting my tongue
These words are getting to me
Yet I’m still not sorry
Please don’t let me sleep

So stay asleep so I can find some relief
As I sit here stuck in place
With a feeling that this isn’t home
Because I can’t feel your heart beating
I’ll write another letter home
Without a return address
But you’ll never hear me say I’m sorry

When the inner soul trying to speak to the outer self. And make you realize the pain and suffer you are doing towards others, but more so to yourself. Insightful, honest and heartbreakingly true. It is the doing it, saying sorry and moving on. And healing oneself before it affects others for the good. As in you meant every word you wrote in those letters in your head to them and yourself.
