![]() The truth about sadnessA Poem by KalebX_![]() I was dared therefore I must.![]()
Have you ever reached a crossroad in your life that leaves you broken? So undone and detached from the world that the very idea of a next day seems impossible? How the sun may rise but will never truly shine? Oh how you long for the days that hurt back them that would barely even cause an irritation now? When the position of happiness and sadness switch? Think about it for a minute, now what would happiness be without sadness? You need the dark days to prove the light is there. Everything you go through now is merely a battleground for how your life will pan out, they say the coldest nights are followed by hotter days but if you replace that, switch and rotate you get a much sinister image, imagine a day without light but yet a night without darkness. If either two were to simply disappear then the other would mean nothing. A balance but what should happen if this balance was to be lost? If you did not have the melancholy, would there really be joy? If heaven exists there must be a hell but who is to dictate which is which? You? Yes. You decide. For people will leach off your happiness, they will bleed it dry for their own amusement. People said kids will be cruel but adults are far worse. A vicious cycle that cannot be broken. But your sadness? Nobody wants that, you are left alone in the pits of your despair despite the people around you claiming they are there. These dark days seem the darkest but once you step into the light, it all fades. Nothing is ever as it seems but once you settle your mind, the shadows oh how they will return. Never stop moving, don't let the sun inside your mind set but never forget that if it wasn't for the dark, you wouldn't appreciate the light.
Or something like that anyway. © 2017 KalebX_
