A Poem by Different Wings
"

A mesh of thoughts

"
I pet my dog there
and tell her to be calm and still because everything is powerful and, in the end,
wonderful.
There is no place someone can actually be in a see the earth in completeness.
The earth cannot be aesthetically contained by any human force or number-
except through a map.
Let me repeat that.
The earth is the most expansive place we have ever lived,
full of unimaginable diversity and countless things to discover.
And as its sole philosophizing species, we can only really look at it,
in its entirety,
through a map. I skip stones there. I sit there. I wade in and cool off there. I sing there.
I write there. I listen there. I dream and think and reflect there.
In gleeful and somehow meaningful laughter and conversation
I once again was shown anew-
again, why not? That place is the place for me.
It is there that I find wonder in life and wonder about life. My dog and I know that.  Everything is powerful.
So it's understandable that I objected,
half jokingly,
to my reason for living being slathered on the nails of what it represented.
Is there such a thing as good,
and is there such a thing as bad? Doesn't matter. They're all the colours of my history somehow.
How incredible is that?
And how often taken for granted.
