The Light in Darkness

Hope

In every human, there is an essence of being

a breath of existence

a light,

Across the world, we are never- ever- without it,

never does it leave us

it's always been there

and it always will be,

Whether or not we realize it

is what truly defines where we are

what we are

what we know and how we got there,

With every breath we are making a statement

telling one another that the light in us

burns everlasting

it always has, and always will

even when we breathe no more-

for physically doing so is only one expression

one of many,

With every breath we define that essence of being that makes us human,

that makes us live by the light

like a fire built in the darkest of winters

to show us that it is not so dark

and even the mistiest of mornings

can yield the brightest of days,

Our being lives by a fire of hope

with every breath

and every expression therefore.
