When it beganA Poem by Different Wings
When it began, when the first dropped
You could be here, or far to the left You might have screamed at the burst or stood fixed to its orange wake visible and instantly flickered out, then soon joined by others Helps to explain its steady, rotund, consummate growth. You may have witnessed your corner market when gas converged upon it Or dived, carried clothing and desperation Acutely aware of the single dark place Out of the storm Where did all of our children run off to? Into the shelter-- where they cannot stand amazed by lustful boars
