Sing Her Love Songs

Sing Her Love Songs

A Poem by Kala Benfield
"

Guys, do a girl a favor and sing your love.

"
She'll be sleeping softly
while you sing to her.
Finding her place in
your heart.

Call her out in
her wrong.
Praise her for the things
shes uncomfortable with.

Sing her the words of
your love.

She'll be sorry for the things
she thought was right.
The things she wanted for you.
All you'll do is prod her with an
engraver.
Saying "do what pleases me" .

Great poem Michaela! Your poems definitely have some mystery to them.

A few suggestions if I may:

Finding her place
in your heart

in her wrong

(move the ins to the next line) remember "end strong"

of your love

(again move of down) Try not to end lines with of, in, etc. These are prepositions.

In the last stanza, make "was" "were" since you are talking about more than one thing.

with your engraver (move with to next line)

And finally "Do what pleases me." Capitalize first letter of quotation and place the period before the final quotation.

Keep writing!
