She Loved Him First.

She Loved Him First.

A Poem by Kala Benfield
"

In desperate need of my first love. How I miss him.

"
This Distance is blinding,
the Pain isn't fading,
the Mercy repeats,
but she's the one to blame.
Each scar is different.
They all have a reason why.
With each blow, they prod
every ones memory.
With a wonder of why
shes so Beautiful.
They end up questioning
her smile,
considering its a morose.
Walking high.
Her limits are stretched.
They ask,
she awns with lies.
Followed by the common
stupidity of the human race,
they believe.
Shes a creature only I can fathom.
A divine soul trapped in the realms
of insanity.
She grieves with dedication.
She loved him.
He left her.
Shes an ensconcing element
that has yet to reach her
full bloom.
Her structure is still fragile,
as well as her heart.
The silence is ceased.
To with stain her sanity,
she mourns.
The life she's in has caused terrible things.
She wears his tags.
Caressing the chain.
Traces over the engraved lettering.
She finds her strength to grasp
the stars and clench the stripes.
Her fingertips record the seams.
She falls to her knees
with a silent scream.
No more can she withhold
her loves losing.
Gripping the Letters he
wrote her.
enunciating each word he scratched.
Watching her tears smear the words.
Cant come to an understanding
of why he had to go.
He has his wings.
He sores through her heart,
and lands beside her.
Not in front of or behind.
He carry's forth her heart.
She know his place.
I am the creature everyone questions.
I fathom all the events.
I shed my tears for what they're worth.
More then the finest diamonds.
More then my own life.
They burst before they hit the ground,
as they slide down my face.
streaking my make-up.
I stand corrected.
I mourn no more.
I envy the actuality
he's in the preferred place.
Yes I Still squeeze the silence
by whispering discrete howls
within the night.
I do know that hes leaning forth,
to land a kiss on my cheek,
erasing the tear.
I raise my Flag each morning in
honor of my dear solider.
My Darling is within the deepest
parts of my soul,
For I loved him first.
