Red, White, Blue.

Red, White, Blue.

A Poem by Kala Benfield

Folded stars.

layered stripes.

Given to me in uniform.

Was it a dream?

Pinch me.

Shake me from this hell!

Wake me up...

Please.

My blue hazel,

you've dropped to your knees.

When you shouldn't have.

I wasn't worth

the price you paid.

Bound with Red and White stripes.

Blinded with Stars.

Shielded by Blue.

The congregation has stood up.

Singing with a symphony of Angels.

I'm held against my will with

the charge of blasphemy.

We haven't fallen.

But you have.

I haven't fallen.

You have.

It was to late by the time the phone hung up.

I could've saved you My Darling.

You're so far away.

Not in hands reach.

We're not touching.

Grasping eachothers fingers.

Your arms,

used to tower over me like trees.

Gave me protection and strength to move forward.

You stopped breathing.

I wont see you anymore.

You know,

I want you to say "I love you babygirl."

Hold my Darlin'.

Hold him in your God Foresaken Arms.

Wrap him in your light and your Glory.

He's with you.
