Awake

Awake

A Poem by Kala Benfield
"

Readers interpretations.

"

A tear,

a simplistic whisper,

a tender touch,

your touch,

couldn't be crisper.

I tremble at your, 'I love you,'

I lived all my life, and taken for granted,

to leave all my doubts and reals behind.

Live another life and go blind.

Your gestures spew signs of want,

letting your guard down, and never die forgotten.

Forgive me my love I stand here alone,

I am prone to my spine giving poisons,

for it will be rotten.

I lie awake,

caressing my silken fingertips,

against your sercreaten skull,

I serenade you, a calm whisper,

poetically I lull.

I creep into the flame,

finding the blackness in my sillohettes,

trying not to awake my forever,

my shadows ease into the slither of light,

iching at your doorway.

Biting my lip to breathe easy,

it's a never ending fight.

You awake,

seeing me creep out into the sliver of dawn,

"Wait..."
