I'll Be There

I'll Be There

A Poem by Kala Benfield

The sight of it feeds my panic.

Taunts my regrets.

Leaving my open wounds bounded with wire,

strangling the innocence.

My tourniquet.

You,

Darling, have I paid all my dues?

Have I been the fuel to your flame?

Do I live as your desperation?

Tomorrow I'm going to leave her, leaving my fate behind,

and let my fears take control of me.

So go on, you sick twisted b*****d, cut your limbs and leave them to bleed.

Your ruthlessness and your heartache, they're not worth all this nonsense.

I love you.

Don't make this harder then it needs to be.

I'll be here, through your raged edges,

and your uncontrollable desires to feed into my flesh.

I will be here, and I will never let you fall.
