SurpriseA Poem by Kala BenfieldYour looks are so natural. Stop your innocent glares. They're more like the ribbons you strangle me with. Your arms.
Your warm embrace that no one knows. I see your stares. They're perfection. Glistening eyes to wrap my surroundings, and hide them. You're my safe haven.
This plays out as a reflection of the future. But then, theres the ugly. Oh, how shattered I am with his pity. For I know, you'll stand by me. I know in time, I'll find, that this was no surprise.
I've been taunted by your lip locks. They're a warm bliss, and I'm sinking. Farther I fall, as you watch me with care, but still no sound falls from such a bitter sweet abyss.
What's so different? When you turn your back, if you only knew what I think. Your light, your impeccable gleam, I can not compose unto thee.
I see you. You see me. I thought it would never be, until now. © 2011 Kala BenfieldAuthor's Note
