Confusion

Confusion

A Poem by Kala Benfield

Behind the weak and frigid smiles,

the quivering lips, wither like a rose.

Words spill,

gripping my throat.

Leaving it afflicted, chaffed, and sharp.

Aches and agony

shift like beating quakes in my earth.

Here comes good-bye.

Here comes the rain out-gushing my words,

from spilling on my wasted fucked up smile.

Why do I love you, oh so dear?

Your masking your beautiful soul.

Bluntly hiding your shame and pity for your guilt.

You've given my heart.

I love you.
