A Poem by Kala Benfield

Bury your burdens here in my sight,
here in my arms,
just for tonight.
I swear by the end,
I'd have proven you right.
Unsteadiness.
weak at the knees,
bow to me,
Slay yourself,
your heart, let it bleed.
Allow me to see you're worth
the greed.
Let the lust swivel in & out of your veins.
In-between the curses you spill over me,
covers with bloodstain.
With forgery, fables, and fraudulence;
you've graced my mind with a such a vengeance,
as a result, my soul is soaked in violence.
Snuff the ambiance,
heavy with perjury and evasion.
uneven, unsteady, & out of balance.
From within this love with which we are bound,
light a match and burn it all to the ground.
