I Can be Your Hero, You Be my Heroine.A Poem by Kala BenfieldLet me personify this feeling for you. Allow me to make this pleasing to your voice when you say it aloud. As it aches your heart and scratches your throat. I can feel you in my veins. Pulsating from my arms to my heart to my brain. I can see hues stringing from left to right. Who knew the world could be so bright. Illuminating the sky as speak, but I must me blind, as of right now it is night. We can live in these cold and s****y days and call it home. make my voice moan. Call my name, and I promise, I'll put you on a throne. Just like the spoon, we'll scratch until its clean. I'm going to use the most submissive substance. Lets face it, I cant seem to get enough of it. i'll use and abuse. Until enough will suffice. The shittiest of drugs. The most addictive, It'll cut me like a knife. But if we turn a me into we. I think I could live another day. Scratch my spoon and tie me up. Intoxicate me darling, enough is never enough. I'll pick myself like a vulture. I'll scab over and heal. Let the needle pierce and puncture. Without you by my side, I am lifeless, like the sun in the night. When I comatose, be the rhythm in my soul. but, whatever you do, don't let me go. © 2013 Kala Benfield |
