Something SlightA Poem by Kala BenfieldI loved you with a love that was deeper than the ocean. For a little while, it was all that mattered in the simplest notions. I made them to keep boundaries, but I broke them. Guilt flooded my conscience for the night. As I pondered your existence and why it felt so right. I fell. I was falling despite it all, I wanted to run. Your voice was orchestral as I walked and heard you call. The sweetest of melodies when my name fell from your lips. That I heard from your mouth was not in vain. And I will hide myself away. Just to spite them all for another day. The bitter-sweet rush I got from your face, impacted my memory harshly. It stung as I left you. My blood boiled as I screamed a silent scream of something blue. Giving me this paralyzing pain. Your eyes were illuminating. I saw a pure soul in them, something I saw once, but thought to never see again. Your heart spoke to me without a single word. I wanted to speak, but my voice was blurred. This distance must cease. It shouldn't be long my dear. This time should be the only thing we fear. (...to be continued) © 2013 Kala BenfieldAuthor's Note
