Fifty-Two, Til' ThenA Poem by Kala BenfieldCastles and car crashes Burn like sweet cigarettes Bending the blinds To see what washes in the tides Not blind to see your Luminous face Brightening and our sweet embrace And the colors melt off the walls To see the anguishing life at a pause While you are gone Deaf to thine lips to the liquor that puckers our kiss Sheltered out society til thy loves heart has full purity Time is gold Til time sets still my heart is yours to hold Cards at fifty-two something bitter than something blue As chests race Your love starts to pace Pretty in white Til' 'once upon a time' Ti'l then Til the strife burns down, it will be brief fifty-two til the End.
