Shiver Love off the Shore

Shiver Love off the Shore

A Poem by Kala Benfield

A kiss of the spine,
a touch of the tongue,
a perching silence waits
with their love.
Letting every wave drag them
to sea,
so perfectly rapturing
their beauty.

Linens trail the floor,
by the end,
their hearts will be lining
the shore.
She drinks the wine
and kisses his poison.
Evermore, she's sweetly
chosen.

The loveliest bones are cast
by moonlight,
then boxed up and buried,
to rot in the night.
She cradles his love with something blue.
Hearts lay at peace bending the
love that's true.
Swishes of the sea paint their faces,
by light, the sun will have made
their beautiful dances.
