First Heartbreak

Heart broken by a jerk. I know heaps of people in this situation so I thought I'd put this out there.

I remember my heart racing,

When you first asked me out,

The world was spinning so fast,

I said yes without a doubt.

 

In the beginning you were so sweet,

At the start you were so kind,

All that didn’t take long to change,

And yet I still was blind.

 

I thought you were my only,

 I thought you were my all,

But you never really cared,

You even laughed when you saw me fall.

 

You got a better offer,

I got to watch you leave,

And though it tore my heart apart

I still refuse to grieve.

 

I miss what I remember,

But I don’t miss what I lost.

Now I know what love feels like,

But the lesson came at such a cost.

 

And now my heart is broken,

And may not ever mend,

And though someday I will move on,

This pain will never end.
