Wait Five Minutes

Wait Five Minutes

A Poem by KaitlynnLogan

Texas spring sky

A color so pure you can almost taste it

Honey colored sunlight

Picture perfect

Little wisps of white push their way through

Like little toddlers

"Let me see let me see"

They chant

Vibrant green glass rolls along

Even the trees join the dance

Twirling this way and that

To unknown music

I slip into warmth

Dreaming of nothing

Cat napping

Slowly blinking

Wait

Are those black clouds I see?

Rolling in like the tide

My beautiful colors are gone

I can barely stand

The birds push and fight

I can hear squirrels crying out in terror

Mosquitos poke and prod me to door

"Run Run"

They whisper in my ear
