I don't MatterA Poem by Kaitlyn RaifordI am useless like a shallow bowl- I can hold so little before toppling over. He is like the garden hose- Spouting more than I could ever handle. There is no end to his words. They fly so quickly, and so loudly. I can't help thinking it doesn't matter. I don't matter. I don't matter. My words are soft, mumbled, and muttered. Even if they weren't, it wouldn't matter. It would never reach him, his ears so high. His words matter so much more than mine. If I stay silent, well then it hurts. But if I speak up, he'll speak first. I should just accept it, the way I feel. I am the equivalent of a potato's peel. I don't matter.
