Don't Forget, Keep It The Same
A Poem by ♥Kaitlyn♥
2/17/2011
Crooked smiles
Baring teeth
The things
Even heaven
Cannot beat
The memories
Of childhood
Fame
But never the real kind
We were much too lame
Falling from trees
We weren’t supposed
To climb
Screaming
And crying
As the pain grows
Laughing at
The silly things
Dad had done
But never did we once
Say it was dumb
Accidentally knocking
Over moms
Favorite things
Then point fingers
To see who would
Take the blame
All these things
We aren’t able
To forget
All these things
We have all
Been through
Never trade
Them away
Never wish
They didn’t happen
Never say
It wasn’t important
Every little detail
Made the way
It should be
And that’s the way
It shall stay | |

It's a shame that these wonderful memories fade as we grow older. If only we could keep them sharp and clear throughout our lives. This makes me wish that I'd kept a journal as a kid growing up. Wouldn't it be fascinating to read today? I like this one, Kaitlyn. You've captured that perfect feel of reminiscing.
