The girl in the black dress

Sitting across the room

All by herself

 

Wishing her pain

Would finally ease

Hoping actually

 

Praying to

A "god"

She doesn't believe in

 

Thinking

Maybe someone

Cares about me

 

Knowing that

It can't be true

No one listens to her

 

Then I realized

The girl in the black dress

Is me

This is a strong poem, maybe a little over-dramatic for my taste, but that is probably acceptable for this type of poetry. Nice style, nice structure, strong word use, maybe try and develop on this theme a little more, and try to avoid being self-indulgent or morbid, as it could start to lean a little that way. But overall, this is well thought out, well presented, nicely structured, and is written from an interesting detached perspective, so loads of potential here.

Does anyone really do that? Or does she just 'think' that she doesn't believe?

Font needs to be bigger! Gives me a headache to read such small font. Other than that it was very dark and well written.
