Lizard King

Lizard King

A Poem by Kat
"

I'm well aware of who the Lizard King is....

"

The Lizard King sets enchantment across the land
Uttering lullabies for the spiritually damned
Just close your eyes and feel the music take you

"Indians scattered on dawn's highway bleeding...."

Feet rest on broken glass
               highway
                          roadway
                                     alleyway

STOP

There's a door; secret compartment of a dreamland.
Mythical calling to a lost soul
My personal "Stairway to Heaven" but the religion has been forgotten
So I'll practice in rhythm and dance around a passionate flame
I sit back with eyes closed finding true meaning

I LOVE THIS, Katie. I really, really do. And I won't leave it a t that.

These are my two favorite lines;
"My personal "Stairway to Heaven" but the religion has been forgotten
So I'll practice in rhythm and dance around a passionate flame"
Your saying that 'the religion has been forgotten' is such a representative line. When analyzed, I can come up with two meanings for that line, either you've lost a meaning in religion or the actual song and memory of the song, 'Stairway to Heaven' has lost a connotation to religion, and people as a whole, perhaps, have lost the suggestion of religion in the song.... Perhaps you could tell me which.

I like your poem as a creative piece and as a tribute to Jim Morrison.
