Ticking Clocks

Ticking Clocks

A Poem by Kat

Lately we've been running on different frequencies

So turn the dial to my station and let's go down

Past the artificial colors

Through the air of silent night

Find peace in the smoke and harmony

Golden honey comes to join the party

It saturates you to the core

Your tranquil lips say all they need to for the moment

Come dance with the ghosts and I

The time is not to be wasted

Float with me by the seaside

Make it last because I need relief

Share your wisdom with me

Lessons from the Earth

The sky is livid as the clouds roll by in their fury

Drumming along like a grandfather clock

But I've got nowhere I have to be

A soundtrack plays in the background

Tells the story of now

Slips down the river of ribbons

Through the woods adorned with a blanket of mist

Wait for me in the trees

Where we'll run free as the rampant wind

The picture is perfect for this poem. It almost sets the mood.
Such a lovely poem, this is really good.
Your style is that of a master that's written poetry for centuries haha, really, it's so good.
"Lately we've been running on different frequencies
So turn the dial to my station and let's go down
Past the artificial colors" - my favourite part of the poem.
Keep these great poems flowing Katie.

Yours truly,

There is some fantastic imagery here. The flow is pretty smooth, but I keep going back to some of the imagery. Impressive. This almost makes me think of the forest behind my parent's house where I spent many hours roaming throughout the years. Bravo.

Nice Katie, very nice indeed.

I liked the line that read, "Find the peace in the smoke and harmony", and enjoy your use of descriptions like the grandfather clock and the trees, the music, etc.
Nicely done indeed.
