A Poem by Kain Smith
"

Thinking of Valentine's Day and a bit of a past love.

"
As the day of love comes up,
I remember the ease of our days.
I remember your gently smiling face.
I remember your touch.
I miss it so much.
I remember how good it felt
To know I had someone by my side
Who would stay for a lifetime.
I remember that security.

I remember your voice shaking.
I remember your heart breaking.
I remember how foolish my words were.
I remember how much you hurt.
How much it was my fault.
How much your family hates me.
How much they would break you in their hatred.

I remember how my heart soared
To know you still had feelings for me,
As I did for you.
I remember how the pain roared
When I had to tell you no.
No, because I was scared.
I never want to be without you.
I'm too used to you to imagine that.
I love you too much to lose you.

But as the day of love comes, I wonder...
Did I make another mistake in tearing our hearts asunder?
I miss everything about you and me.
I miss us. I miss "we".
But my logic won't let my heart be.
