363 14A Poem by Kain SmithA sonnet musing on my common musing on death.
What do I miss when life fades into sleep?
When hours are dark, what dreams are left uncaught? When only bed my company does keep, What hopes, what faith of mine can yet be brought? I wonder what that final veil might hide, When mortal coil is shuffled off to rest. Shall I in depths of hell forever bide, Or when death comes shall I instead be blest? Or shall I know instead of naught but naught? Is nothing left beyond that final breath? Shall life renew til I live as I ought? Why must I ponder so on my own death? To stare to the abyss is my desire. Capricious human hand held to the fire.
