A Poem by Kain Smith
"

This is something I wrote for a challenge I am doing called 363 Days of Art. It is a challenge which spans all mediums with which I have worked, and forces me to create small pieces for all of them.

"

Revitalize

To breathe in new life

Into something once dead.

I never saw

Myself as dead.

Until the day came

When I knew I’d never

Truly lived.

Revitalize.

To invigorate.

To fill with a zest for life.

Childlike wonder and awe returned.

Strange that I never missed it

Until it returned to me.

Revitalize.

Reviving confidence.

Giving back the self I’d dreamed.

Once I’d seen a confident man,

Not simply his shell.

Now I know I am he

As he is me.

Revitalize.

Rebirth.

A chance for new growth.

This chance

I will

Not squander.

The chance for reinvention

Is a privilege.

One

I seek

To enjoy while I can.

I must.

For I never know

How long this wave shall rise

Before it crashes down,

Never to be

Revitalized.

This was a drabble, as many of these writings for this challenge will be. Still, any opinions on the meter, word choice, etc. would be appreciated.

BAM you are really great at poetry. I like how this was laid out. The only thing is you repeat some words once or twice in each stanza. I feel like you should put in synonyms for these.
