A Poem by Kailei
"

pathological dishonesty

"
The truth was never good enough for you,
The basics never seemed to be acceptable
and the rest could never be true.

It's not even big things either
why do you feel the need to be bigger
better than what you are.

People yearn for humble honesty
yearn to be trusted and to be trust
but you seem to be late to the party

The resentment builds up -
Isn't it hard to keep track of all those lies?
They arent even necessary my little buttercup

People will never know the real you
if you dont let them in
People will never know how you feel
if you never tell them too

So you make up all these things
to add or switch your stories
maybe its just poor timing
maybe its just your lies

the only time your honest is when youre not sober
when people can pick apart your mind
oh how i want to see into that beautiful inside

youre too afraid to be vulnerable
nothing little is true
nothing big is either
you put on a mask that people dont even enjoy
maybe its easier being a stranger

I wish your white lies would stop
And you would be honest with me too
but youre scared of who you are
and frankly, I am too.
