Two Minds, One Heart.

Two Minds, One Heart.

A Poem by Kailani
"

A grandmother and a child, one can only see the difference, the other can see what they have in common.

"
I am young and growing,
Bud yet blooming.
You are old and dying,
Flower starting to wilt,
Grandma.

Ah, but can't you see?
You may be but a bud,
And I but a wilting blossom,
Yet you and I are both still living,
Child.

My dreams are just taking flight,
Like a bird into the sky,
And yours are now falling,
Like a feather floating down,
Grandma.

Ah, but look here!
Your dreams may be soaring,
And mine be plummeting,
But we both have them yet,
Child.

My voice is strong and clear,
Like the flute or birdsong,
And yours is weaker and fainter,
Like the cool summer wind,
Grandma.

Look and see now,
Though your voice is like birdsong,
And mine sounding of the wind,
We both have them, we both can be heard,
Child.

We may be different as day and night,
You might be fresh and new,
I might be old and worn,
You might be just learning,
The things my mind already knew,
But we are one and the same,
Through and through,
Child.

About
I enjoy writing, and I"ll admit that I am not the best writer out there, but I love slipping into the worlds I create when I write. My second favorite topic is reading (no surprise there, right?), and.. more..
