Jux the Bunny Drops a Beat

Jux the Bunny Drops a Beat

A Poem by David Aiello
"

my first poem to be read at slam, wearing a bunny hat.

"
It was a tap-dance on the stage of synchronicity,
In my hand, the well-worn questions to Divinity;
The words had been self-evident and apparent,
Transported to the moment by the inherent
Crossing of chemical-thresholds in the
Hundred-thousands,
Surmounting in thunderstorms of syllables,
And the enunciation of yet another truth;

Where youth was just the testing ground
To see if you found wisdom,
And a scheme, that seemed worthy of the
Effort to keep in motion.
Like my mind, on the back of a vinyl
Card the suit of pentacles,
I'm caught chasing the shuffle of
All the miracles,
Keeping these lungs pumpin' songs,
And the sound, as always, true.
