Never Said Goodbye

Never Said Goodbye

A Poem by Kai Muhsik

I never really knew what to say.

I was always kind of the quiet type.

I never really got to say goodbye-

and I'm sorry for that, and I regret that.

I sat at the funeral with the rest of our family

and sang 'Swing Low Sweet Chariot'.

I had never sung that before.

That day was the first day I saw grandpa cry.

But I - no tears ever left my eyes.

Still today, I wander why.

I'll miss you Great Grandma

and your positive way of life -

Never backing down,

until the last fight.

R.I.P Lucille M.

You will be missed.
