December Rolling

December Rolling

A Poem by Channing S.

Can you recall?
The love we lost at the end of fall
When the December winds came rolling in
Did it cool off?
I thought that jacket would keep your spirit warm
Pale skin kept from shivering.

But its not enough, its not enough
This cold season is so tough
Why can't I spark a desire?
I can't hold my flame to your fire
Eyes on another lover in the snow
Angel please don't say its so

Can you recall?
We laughed and rustled through the leaves
Sweet kisses trailed our skin
I thought it was only the beginning,
And now I have to beg for you to come sit next to me
Why is it so?
Oh please don't play me so

But its not enough, its not enough
This cold season can be so rough
Your spirit frosted over (don't shiver)
Why can't I spark desire?
I won't hold my flame up to your fire
I can't understand this misery

The leaves left forgive me notes as they died away
Autumn couldn't stay not one more day left (no, no)
And so the sky clouded
Icicles hanging from the poles and rooftops
Please get the story straight
You couldn't wait

Author's Note

Channing S.
This was one of my favorite pieces to write so I hope you enjoy it too...
And if you can think of anything to help me make it better or have any advice regarding lyrics and poetry... That'd be great.
