A Poem by Kaede16

Hueles a café.

Hueles a guitarra.

A madera y acero.

Hueles a blanco y negro.

A mujer desnuda que miras desde lejos.

A ombligo, a omóplatos, a senos.

Y si nos tocamos, es como el lente al cuerpo.

Como la luz a la silueta.

Como las sombras al deseo.

Y ya te dije? Me hueles a café.

A cortadito y luces.

A noche y distancia.

Y besos.

Y besos…

..............................................................................

You smell like coffee.

And if that were too small a cliche, let me tell you,
You taste like lies and avocado.
-Ripe, with a little vinegar and salt-
You touch me and I feel surges on the beach of my stomach.
I wake up to dead butterflies on the coast,
Thirsty, they looked for you, only to drown in the feeling of it all.

You smell like a guitar.
Wood and steel.
You sound like a guitar too.
And if I touch you. Oh, God!
If I touch you the strings vibrate under my fingers.
Sweet and melancholic, like an antonymized rock n roll.
If I could touch you as I want,
I would let my fingers bleed under that same steel.

You smell of black and white.
of a naked woman you look from afar.
of a navel, shoulder blades, breasts.
And if we touch each other, it's like the lens to the body.
As the light to the silhouette.
As the shadows to desire.

Did I already tell you? You smell like coffee.
like cortadito and lights.
like night and distance.
And kisses.
And kisses…

"and I feel dizzy on the beach of my stomach" excellent turn of a phrase there, metaphorically.
This piece is quite sensuous but more in hinting..."like the lens to the body"
we feel the touch, we sense the longing---and we like that the smell of coffee is a turn on rather than a turn off.
this guitar needs to be played...
really strong piece of poetry,
j.

So enjoyed this. It is so full of pathos as the protagonist floods their thoughts with the love and desire to take the relationship to a physical level. Such romantic and descriptive poetry with many great lines.

Woozy romanticism drunk on lines. "the beach of my stomach" "lies and avocado" "smell of black and white." flattering form and structure.
