Fall

Fall

A Poem by Kae Martyndale

I tilt my head
Upward
I feel the rain
Fall upon my uncovered eyelashes
The water’s soft patter
Leaves kisses on my open mouth
The world begins
Spinning.

Knees downwards.

Fall.

Quiet rumbles
From the sky
Drown out
The sound of broken hearts.
The world
Freezes.

Tears from concealed eyes

Fall.

But the rain’s constant caress
Upon my frosty skin
Wipes away my salty tears.

The world begins

Again.

Beautiful poem ... what a lovely way of letting the feelings of yours about rain go down into the droplets of words. Lovely. I really like the way you design the format of the write with your frosty icy-edged thoughts in a way of praising the beauty of rain. Well written!
