Slip Away

Slip Away

A Poem by Kae Martyndale
"

Another high school poem.

"

Your name
Shows up again
You are
Just a click away
I stare
At the computer screen
And pause

I want
To talk to you
I need
Normality to return
I crave
To see your words
But wait…

I know
What normal is
I remember
How you behaved
I felt
The anxiety

Slip away…

I put
The distance there
I was
In charge this time
I feel
That this is best
But its so hard…

Amazing. I have a folder hid away of my old high school poems. They were not nearly as self-possessed as this. Great job.
