Dear Esteemed Businessmen to whom this letter pertains,

Good evening, gentleman. I am Lisa Emerwits, Founder and C.E.O. of Sythesy Research and Development. I do hope that this message has gotten to you without difficulty. I hate to break you all away from your busy schedules, but I wish to discuss a most sensitive matter with all of you, a matter that may change the very lives of the people of Vertacre. Therefore, I am sure you will not mind that I proceeded to put this at the top of your mailing list.

Gentleman, each of you hold a very important and essential part in the society that surrounds you. Your niche in the human network makes you some of the most powerful and influential people in the world. All of you share one thing that makes you soar above every other businessman and entrepreneur that ever was. So what is it, you ask? The answer can be summed up in one acronym.

            G.E.N.E.s

Every one of you contribute a valuable service to the G.E.N.E. network that mankind relies and flourishes on. This revolutionary innovation in scientific technology allows the human being to transcend the plane of reality and become, quite literally, the best that he can be. Diseases, disabilities, infertility, ever cancer"all are mere child’s play with the miracle of G.E.N.E.s. with the unparalleled power of G.E.N.Es, The human potential is as far as we can make it.

However, as revolutionary and gravid this new technology is, there still looms a persisting obstacle for those who would benefit from these enhancement: G.E.N.E.s are superb but scarce. On record, there is a total of 7 major corporations and industries that produce and distribute G.E.N.E.s to the public, and that is not counting the dozens of smaller corporations distributing their own enhancement products. That which is meant to aid the common man is divided and separate. For example, if one wished to download a G.E.N.E. to cure Diabetes, that person would have to find a clinic sponsored by Bysanthum Megacorp for insulin enhancement (seeing as Bysanthum is the only industry specialized in the field of disease G.E.N.E.s) and then would have to go to a Stockwire Industry clinic to download a G.E.N.E. that made sure the previous G.E.N.E. performed at optimum capacity. And seeing as different corporation-sponsored clinics are a significant distance away from each other, this can be a bit of a feat. There are many other common problems with separate G.E.N.E. corporations, including increasing competition, even though each company’s G.E.N.E.s are unique. In the end, the goal that every business now aims for"to produce and supply for the welfare of the human race"is hindered by the disorganization of G.E.N.E. industries and corporations.

Since the dawn of these new technologies, mankind has put aside its greed and wants for power to realize its universal and humanitarian duty to help their fellow man and neighbor. This is not just evident in the major powers in the world, such as the U.S. or Europe, but nearly every nation able to self-govern itself has taken measures to ensure universal peace and prosperity. Competition is no longer a major factor in the business world and more and more people are seeing the ties that bring them together; and gentleman, I encourage you to do the same through this project that Synthesy has developed.

Referring to the obstacle mentioned earlier, G.E.N.E. industries are separate and competitive, thus hindering the progress of science and humanitarianism. However, through extensive research and planning, Synthesy has developed an interface where G.E.N.E.s of any registered business can be access and downloaded to its host. This new interface has been temporarily named “Xware”. Through Xware, individuals may go to any G.E.N.E. clinic of their choosing and have the option of downloading the G.E.N.E. that they choose instantaneously. It is a more convenient and efficient way for G.E.N.E. distribution throughout the populous. Xware also offers advanced security protocols for enhanced safety, faster downloading time, and maximum efficiency for all G.E.N.Es. IT is a breakthrough in the latest software interface technology.

Your contribution is very simple: simply state that you wish your products to be registered with this new interface and provide adequate funds to help further the development of Xware. Each company registered with Xware will receive and equal share of payment relatively close to your already impressive income. Not to mention the money saved with advertising and completion.

Also, with the support of big named companies such as yourself, smaller businesses and corporations will fall in line, influenced to invest into our project, promoting even more synergy until, eventually, Xware becomes an international investment. One small sacrifice is all that Is needed for a giant leap in humanitarianism and unity.

So Gentleman, I only wish for you to consider this marvelous opportunity offered to you. You all stand at the very top of the corporate ladder of influence, and it is your duty to lead the world in the right direction. I hope that you will choose wisely.

With deep regards,

Lisa Emerwits.

“End message. Send to coordinating recipients.”

Processing request.”

A woman in a clean, crisp white lab coat leaned back into an large executive chair, a small smile tugging at the left corner of her lips. She lit a cigarette and took a puff, letting the wisps of smoke fly and dance in the air around her.

“Message sent,” her terminal barked, shutting off soon afterwards. The woman took another puff before smiling.

“You might want to mark this day down, Claire,” The woman said, tilting her head to the side, to address another young woman behind her who was busy encrypting codes into a large terminal as big as herself. “Today is the day that mankind writes its final chapter in the book of Scientific progress.”

The young woman smiled. “You seem to think very highly of this project, Dr. Emerwits.”

“But of course.” The doctor rose from her chair and made her way over to her assistant, her heels clicking on the pure white floor. “After all, who wouldn’t be proud of the final gear in an already magnificent innovation?”

“Anyone, I suppose. But it’s not like we’re making something totally new; just an improvement to an already existing idea.”

Dr. Emerwits leaned over Claire’s shoulder and laughed delicately. “My dear Claire, in science, it does not matter what you make; what matters is how well it works. And with this,” she traced a small finger over the project’s blueprint displayed on the terminal, “The human network will be one step closer to perfection.”

Claire laughed. “Nothing Is perfect, Dr.”

“True,” she said, taking another puff, “But it can be pretty damn close.”

Claire saved her work and turned to face her boss. “The final encryptions are done, ma’am. I can proceed with the rest once we get any of the companies bypasses to their interface.”

“Very good Claire. Go out and enjoy yourself; it’s a perfect day to go find a husband.”

“Dr.,” Claire said, amusement and embarrassment present in her voice. She bumped the professor and both of them laughed.

“I think I will go out, though,” she said, picking up some folders and her purse. “I’m pretty hungry. You want to go out and get something, ma’am.”

“Go on without me, Claire,” she said, ruffling her assistant’s bob. She looked at the monitor. “I think Ill stay with our child, make sure he gets to sleep okay…”

“alright then,” she said, heading for the lab’s door. “I’ll bring you something back okay?”

Lisa raised a hand in acknowledgement as her assistant left, leaving her and her “child” alone. She accessed the terminal and brought up a picture of what the finished product of Xware would look like. She ran a hand over it and smiled.

“You, my friend, are going to be the final piece in such a magnificent puzzle.”

Beautiful! I smell something sinister, all world take over. Sound great and greatly writen. I love the flow of your writing. The email at the begining followed by real life adds to the suspense.
I noticed one typo. It is actually a little funny. You wrote "Hs eran" I judged this to be she ran but I am not sure if I was correct.
